Physical Restraints

Reducing Physical Restraints

Nursing homes that work with DFMC to reduce HACs, such as physical restraints, will be well positioned to contribute to a 40% national reduction in HAC rates. DFMC’s quality improvement staff includes nurses with extensive experience working in long-term care facilities around Maryland. Our associates are available to provide on-site consulting regarding the best practices nursing homes have used to eliminate restraint use among their residents, including ongoing training in quality improvement techniques, evidence-based tools, and resources.
