Every year, DFMC recognizes Maryland hospitals and hospital trustees for exceptional organizational commitment to and leadership in improving patient care.
Excellence Award
The DFMC Excellence Award honors top-performing hospitals in Maryland annually based on their performance improvement in four areas of inpaitent clinical care: acute MI; heart failure; surgical care; and pneumonia. Learn about award criteria.
Hospital Trustee Award
DFMC’s Hospital Trustee Award recognizes one Maryland hospital trustee for leadership that has inspired the hospital to high-quality improvement in patient safety as reflected in the Institute of Medicine’s six aims for improvement – providing care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. These characteristics are aligned with CMS’ three-part aim and the goals of Partnership for Patients and the National Quality Strategy. Learn about award criteria.
